2026 Dr. Janice Wilkerson Scholarship Recipient Announced
Partners For Change is proud to congratulate Holmes High School graduate Carter Bell, the recipient of the 2026 Dr. Janice Wilkerson Scholarship.
Awarded for the second consecutive year, the scholarship was presented during Holmes High School’s Senior Awards Night. This year’s presentation was especially meaningful as Partners For Change founder, Dr. Janice Wilkerson, was there to personally recognize Carter and present him with the award.
The Dr. Janice Wilkerson Scholarship honors a student who reflects a deep commitment to service, leadership, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Carter’s passion for supporting young people and his desire to become an elementary school teacher embody the spirit of this scholarship.
As Carter begins his journey at the University of Cincinnati, he plans to pursue a degree in elementary education with a goal that extends far beyond the classroom.
“In the future, I desire to be an elementary school teacher. I do not want to simply educate young minds, but I long to be a support system for students that may be lacking one, a safe place for those who are hurting, and a male role model that so many students do not have at home.”
Carter shared that earning a higher education will not only provide him with the skills needed to become a teacher, but will also help him grow in his ability to build relationships with students, encourage them, and support them in meaningful ways.
At Partners For Change, we believe in investing in future leaders who are committed to strengthening the environments where children live and learn. Carter’s dedication to serving others reflects the values Dr. Wilkerson championed throughout her career and continues to inspire today.
Congratulations, Carter! We are proud to celebrate this achievement with you and cannot wait to see the impact you will make on future generations.
