Nearly 1 in 4 students have struggled to afford period products in the United States.
Period poverty—the lack of access to affordable menstrual products—is a real and pressing issue affecting students today. Without these essential items or proper menstrual health education, many students are forced to rely on unsafe or unhygienic alternatives, often leading to missed school days and lost opportunities.
The Pink Link Project was created to remove this barrier and ensure that no student has to choose between their education and their basic health needs. Through this initiative, Partners For Change provides free period products in partnering school districts—no questions asked. For families facing financial hardship, the cost of menstrual products can be overwhelming, making it difficult for students to have what they need each month. Schools noticed students missing class simply because they lacked these essential supplies.
Since its launch in 2020, Pink Totes have been placed in school bathrooms, locker rooms, and family resource centers across our partner districts. These totes are stocked with a variety of menstrual products, allowing students to take what they need, when they need it. As the program has grown, Pink Link has expanded to include sports bras for female athletes, ensuring they have the proper support throughout each sports season.
By providing these essentials, the Pink Link Project is helping students stay in school, build confidence, and focus on their futures.
Since its inception, the Pink Link Project has collected and distributed 11,496 tampons, 26,190 pads, 254 sports bras, 422 pairs of underwear, 1,913 feminine hygiene wipes, 286 deodorants, and 102 Pink Link totes.

“I want to share how valuable the Pink Link boxes have been at Newport Intermediate. They've truly made a difference for our students by supporting positive personal hygiene habits and giving our students the ability to focus more on learning rather than worrying about basic needs.”
