Save the date: Game On conference returns Feb. 8–9; speaker proposals now open

Partners for Change and the Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance invite presenters to share practical strategies that strengthen programs and opportunities for Kentucky’s youth

Partners for Change and the Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance (KYOSA) will present the 2027 Kentucky Statewide Out-of-School Time Conference Feb. 8–9 at the Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter in Covington.

Themed “Game On – Power Up: People, Programs, and Possibilities,” the two-day conference will bring together out-of-school time and youth development professionals from across Kentucky to exchange ideas, build connections and explore new ways to support young people and families.

Speaker proposals are now being accepted through Nov. 10, 2026. New and experienced presenters, including people with lived experience in their communities, are encouraged to apply.

Organizers are seeking engaging sessions that give participants practical tools, strategies and resources they can use in their programs. Proposals should address timely issues in out-of-school time programming or family engagement and connect to the conference theme.

Sessions should be 45–60 minutes, including time for questions, and incorporate interactive elements such as hands-on activities, workshops or small group discussions.

Proposals should align with one of five session tracks:

  • Positive youth development experiences

  • Leadership development

  • Family, school, and community partnerships

  • Academics/Enrichment

  • Data-driven decision making/telling your story

Presenters should identify the grade levels their content serves: elementary, middle or high school. Sessions should be accessible across experience levels, with proposals clearly identifying any content intended for advanced practitioners.

Organizers welcome proposals from educators, program staff, community partners, agency leaders, researchers and others whose knowledge and experience can strengthen the field. Diverse perspectives, emerging topics and current research are especially encouraged.

The deadline to submit a proposal is November 10. To submit a proposal visit this link: Conference Proposal Form

Accepted presenters will receive one complimentary conference registration and will be responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.

The conference is expected to welcome more than 250 out-of-school time and youth development professionals, including 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant recipients, school-age child care providers, program leaders, coordinators and educators working with K–12 students.

Moving to a larger venue this year, Game On will offer keynote presentations, hands-on learning and expanded opportunities to connect with peers. Participants will explore proven practices and innovative strategies that can help strengthen programs and build thriving communities.

Registration is expected to open Oct. 30, with early-bird pricing available through Nov. 30. Registration rates increase Dec. 1. Additional details will be shared through Partners for Change and KYOSA.

Organizations interested in supporting the conference through sponsorship are encouraged to contact Partners for Change or KYOSA for information about available opportunities.
