Wellness Wednesdays Create Space for Connection and Reflection for Ludlow High School SOAR Program Students

As students returned to Ludlow High School for the spring semester, the SOAR program welcomed both familiar faces and new participants, while expanding enrichment opportunities to support students during a time of year that can be especially challenging. The months leading up to spring break often test students’ motivation and focus, making it even more important to create spaces where they feel supported, connected, and inspired.

To help students start 2026 with intention and encouragement, SOAR introduced a new enrichment offering: Wellness Wednesdays. This dedicated space allows students to focus on their mental, emotional, and social well-being in a supportive, welcoming environment. The club launched the new year with a vision board activity, helping students reflect on their goals and hopes for the months ahead.

Each Wellness Wednesday begins with a guided journal prompt, giving students time to reflect, set intentions, or simply check in with themselves. This is followed by hands-on wellness activities designed to promote mindfulness, creativity, and self-expression. Students are invited to share their reflections if they choose, ensuring participation feels comfortable and authentic for everyone.

Wellness Wednesdays has quickly become a judgment-free space where students are met with encouragement and understanding. Participants lean on one another, SOAR staff, and a dedicated group of upperclassman volunteers who help foster connection, mentorship, and belonging. Through these shared experiences, students are building confidence, resilience, and meaningful relationships.

One student captured the spirit of the program perfectly, writing: “Better days are coming.” Through SOAR, Ludlow Independent Schools continues to walk alongside students—supporting them through both challenges and successes, and ensuring they feel seen, valued, and empowered every step of the way.
