Empowering Confidence Through the Pink Link Project

Partners For Change secures donation from Bras for Girls for Covington student ROTC

Students in Covington Independent Public Schools recently received a generous donation — free sports bras provided by Brasforgirls.org — thanks to Partners For Change and our Pink Link Project!

For many girls, not owning a sports bra can be a barrier to playing sports and other activities, such as ROTC. By normalizing body changes and providing access to free, high-quality sports bras, Bras for Girls supports girls’ confidence and their lifelong relationship with movement and wellness.

The Bras for Girls program was founded by athletic apparel company Oiselle in 2017, born from research and a clear need.

A 2016 survey by the University of Portsmouth “Bra Lab” revealed:

  • 46% of girls said their breasts affected their participation in sports and exercise.

  • Over 50% did not wear a sports bra while exercising.

  • 87% wanted to know more about breast development.

  • 44% wanted more education about sports bras and their importance in athletics.

  • 73% of girls reported at least one breast-specific concern impacting their ability to be active.

Seeing these barriers, Oiselle launched Bras for Girls to provide both education and access.

Through our Pink Link Project, Partners For Change partnered with coaches and team members at Covington schools to apply, secure and distribute sports bras along with educational materials from Bras for Girls, covering:

  • Proper sizing and fit

  • General health and body awareness

  • Confidence-building for active students

These resources help break down barriers and ensure every girl can participate in sports and activities comfortably and confidently.
